Recent Project

June - August 2024: Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, at Oak Park Festival Theatre

William Shakespeare’s famous story of Love at First Sight is full of action and swordplay, featuring some of the Bard’s most memorable language.

Rachel J. Jones plays Juliet with a robust yet anxious confidence, melting hearts as she discovers the pangs of love for the first time, or slicing the air with gut-wrenching screams as her world crumbles around her.” - NewCity Stage

“[Rachel 'J Jones’s] Juliet, too, is different from your usual Juliet - and better. Jones doesn’t play Juliet as the protected princess, the annoyingly sweet girly girl, or the utterly amazed daddy’s girl. Her Juliet feels very contemporary: strong, slightly cynical, but openhearted.” - Chicago Reader

“This Juliet, as played by Rachel J. Jones, is vivacious, confident, and brave — though still at the mercy of a hardhearted patriarch. (…) Jones and Forman speak Shakespeare’s language fluidly, and the play’s abundant celestial imagery stands out in the open air setting.” - Chicago Tribune
